Venereal diseases: A diseases that are spread by sexual contact, which is begin by microorganisms that survive on the skin or mucus membranes or that are Spread by vaginal secretions, semen or blood during intercourse. More than 30 different parasites, viruses, and bacteria can be transmitted over the sexual contact. The private areas produce a warm and moist situation that is specially conducive to the proliferation of bacteria, yeasts, and viruses, so a great many diseases can be spread this way, including chlamydia, AIDS, genital warts, syphilis, gonorrhea, yeast infections, and some hepatitis.
